Lube Sachets in Ireland
Lube sachets are single-use packs of 1.5 to 10 ml that fit in a pocket, a toiletry bag or a wallet. They suit travel, first dates or trying a brand without buying a whole bottle. To choose, look at the base and the millilitres: anal sex needs more.

What are lube sachets?
A lube sachet holds the same lubricant you would find in a bottle, but split into single-use packs that you open by tearing the corner and that won't leak in your suitcase. They are the best sellers for travel, first dates and hotels, and the easiest way to try a texture or a flavour before buying the large size. Sachets range from 1.5 to 10 ml depending on the brand: the smallest, at 1.5 and 2 ml, are the pjur ones and the Secret Play strawberry one; Body Ars sachets hold 4 ml; Pasante and Skins, 5 ml; Confortex, 6 ml; ID Glide, 7.5 ml, and the 10 ml ones are from Pasante Light and Secret Play.
Types of lube sachets
Sachets come in almost the same formulas as bottles.
- Water-based: the most versatile; fine with condoms and with silicone toys. More options in water-based lubricants.
- Cooling or warming effect: they give a cool or warm sensation when applied.
- Flavoured: strawberry or strawberries and cream, also designed for oral sex. More options in flavoured lubricants.
- Anal: made for anal sex; the full range is in anal lubricants.
- Stimulating gels: as well as lubricating, they aim to create a tingling or warm feeling on the clitoris.
How to choose lube sachets
- Base: with silicone toys, choose water-based. Silicone-based lubricant lasts longer, but it can damage the surface of a silicone toy.
- Amount in ml: the product page says how much each sachet holds; the smallest are mostly for trying out.
- Effect: if you have sensitive skin, start with a neutral, clear, unscented sachet before trying a cooling, warming or stimulating one.
- Vaginal or anal use: the product page says whether the sachet is dual-use or designed for anal sex.
- Units: there are single sachets and boxes of 20 or 100, which work out cheaper if you use them often.
Lube sachets: frequently asked questions
Is one lube sachet enough for a session?
For vaginal penetration with water-based lubricant, yes: a 5 to 10 ml sachet is usually enough, perhaps with one reapplication. For anal sex take at least 2 sachets. With silicone-based lubricant you need less, because it goes much further than water-based: there are sachets of 1.5 ml (pjur Original and pjur Med Soft Glide), 2 ml (Eros Silk), 4 ml (Mixgliss Monoi, in a box of 12) and 5 ml (Skins Superslide), but they are not in this section, they are with the rest of the lubricants.
Can I use a lube sachet with a condom?
Yes, if it is water-based or silicone-based. What damages the latex of condoms is oil. With cooling, warming or stimulating sachets, check on the product page that they are condom-compatible.
Can I keep an opened sachet for next time?
No. It is single-use and, once opened, it doesn't close again: throw away whatever is left.
Do lube sachets expire?
Yes. Check the date on the box or on the sachet. If you have carried one in your wallet for months, make sure it isn't torn first.
