Step by step
How to use Joydivision Soft-Tampons Mini
- Wash your hands before opening the wrapper.
- Moisten the tampon with a little lubricant, such as AQUAglide, or with clean water. Then squeeze it out well so it absorbs as much as possible.
- Squeeze it at the sides with your thumb and middle finger, with your index finger in the hollow, so the tab forms. It's easier sitting on the toilet with one leg raised, for example on a chair.
- Push it in with your fingers until it touches the cervix. It is in the right place when you can't feel it any more.
- To remove it, squat or sit on the toilet with your legs apart, bear down gently on your lower abdomen and pull the tab with your index or middle finger.
After use
It isn't cleaned. Each tampon is used once and thrown in the bin, like any other period hygiene product.
Manufacturer's warnings
- Don't wear it for more than 8 hours or use it overnight, to reduce the risk of toxic shock syndrome.
- Change it straight after sex, and immediately if it was without a condom.
- It is not a contraceptive. When you remove it, sperm can still travel onwards.
- If you have an IUD with the string slightly protruding, talk to your gynaecologist before using it.
- After giving birth, wait at least 6 weeks before using any tampon.
- As it has no string, in some cases it can end up behind the cervix and be harder to remove. It doesn't work equally well for everyone, and you often find out by trying it. If you can't remove it, see your gynaecologist.
- With very heavy flow, it's best not to swim. Put in a new one before getting into the water.
