Step by step
How to insert and remove the Soft-Tampons Normal
- Wash your hands before taking it out of the wrapper.
- Moisten it with a little lubricant (the manufacturer gives AQUAglide as an example) or with clean water, and squeeze it out well so that it can absorb as much as possible.
- Form the tab. Sit on the toilet with one leg raised, for example on a chair, put your index finger in the hollow of the tampon and squeeze the sides with your thumb and middle finger.
- Push it all the way in with your index or middle finger, opening your labia with the other hand, until it touches the cervix. It is in the right place when you can't feel it.
- To remove it, squat down or sit on the toilet with your legs apart, hook the tab with your index or middle finger and pull. If you can't find it, pinch with two fingers.
After use
Don't wash them: each tampon is used once and thrown in the bin. If they change colour in the light, they can still be used.
Manufacturer's warnings
- Don't wear it for more than 8 hours: change it every 3 to 5 hours on heavy-bleeding days and every 5 to 8 on light days. At night, it's best not to use a tampon.
- Change it right after sex, and straight away if it was without a condom.
- It is not a contraceptive.
- Don't wash it to put it back in.
- If you can't remove it, see a gynaecologist. In rare cases it ends up behind the cervix.
