What is a sex sheet?

It is a sheet that goes over the bed so that sweat, fluids, lubricant or massage oil do not reach the mattress. The Sportsheets, with hooks and cuffs, is made of fabric. The black glossy vinyl ones also change the look of the bed. There are also disposable sheets, the Confortex ones: they are made of white polypropylene, measure 150 × 200 cm and are used once and thrown away.

Types of sex sheets

There are four types, depending on what you want to do in bed.

• PVC or vinyl: waterproof, like the CalExotics Scandal at 2.03 m, ideal for play with plenty of fluids or with oil-based lubricant.
• Slide sheets: they have a low-friction surface, like the Joydivision Sexmax at 180×220, designed to be used with water-based lubricants and silicone-based ones.
• Disposable: single-use, so there is nothing to wash afterwards.

How to choose

• Material: PVC if you want nothing to get through to the mattress and to be able to wash it afterwards; polypropylene for disposable ones, lighter and single-use. • Use: reusable if you will use it often; disposable if you want convenience and nothing to wash.

How do I use a sex sheet without it being uncomfortable?

Put it over your normal fitted sheet: that way you get the protection without the coldness of vinyl directly against your skin. When you finish, remove the top layer and the bed is ready. Polyester ones with a waterproof inner layer feel softer to the touch than pure vinyl.

Can I use massage oil on top of the sheet?

Yes, on a PVC or vinyl one, which does not let the oil through to the mattress; check on the product page that the sheet allows it. If you also use a latex condom, the oil weakens it: choose a latex-free one or a water-based lubricant.

Are slide sheets very slippery?

Yes, and with lubricant even more so: that is exactly what they are meant for. Move slowly and be careful when getting out of bed.
