What are sexy bikinis?

A sexy bikini is made to show off more than it covers: less fabric, straps, sparkle or metallic details. The ones sold as swimwear for the beach or the pool are five Chilirose models; the rest are lingerie in the shape of a bikini, for a night in or a photo shoot. More than half of the models are by Chilirose, and there are also some by CalExotics, Leg Avenue, Casmir, Insinuate and Music Legs.

Types of bikinis

Almost all of them fall into these shapes:

  • Micro bikini: small triangles and thin straps with minimal coverage; some have crystals or jewels.
  • Triangle bikini: the classic, with straps that tie or adjust; there are printed ones, in leopard or floral, and some with rhinestones or metallic details.
  • String bikini: top and bottoms made of straps that trace the body, closer to lingerie. If you want more matching pieces, take a look at sets.

How to choose

  • Size: check the size chart on each product page; there are models in S/M and others in L or XL.
  • Fit: adjustable straps at the neck, back and hips help if you are between two sizes.
  • Coverage: a micro bikini covers the bare minimum; a classic triangle covers a little more.
  • Material: when the product page states it, it is usually nylon or polyamide with elastane (spandex), which stretches; the PVC model with metal is stiffer.

Frequently asked questions

Can I swim in these bikinis?

In some of them, yes. Chilirose sells its CR 4447, CR 4448, CR 4497, CR 4659 and CR 4660 models as swimming bikinis, for the beach and the pool. The rest are lingerie in the shape of a bikini: the Lara set by Casmir states that it is not swimwear, and the tulle, lace, rhinestone or PVC ones are not sold as swimwear either.

What is a trikini?

A bikini whose top and bottoms are joined by fabric or straps at the front or at the sides, so it covers a little more of the waist than a two-piece bikini. There are none on this page right now: all the models are two-piece, and the two Radiance models by CalExotics are the top only.

Are there sexy bikinis in plus sizes?

Yes. There are models in plus size and in L/XL, and you will find more pieces in plus sizes.

How do I wash a bikini with rhinestones?

By hand, in cold water with a mild soap, without wringing it, and leave it to dry flat in the shade. If you have swum in the sea or the pool, rinse it in fresh water as soon as you can. If the product page gives instructions, follow them.
